Zanzibar is set to host the 9th Annual Insurance Conference organized by the Tanzania Insurance Brokers Association (TIBA) from 24 to 26 August 2025 at the Golden Tulip Hotel. Among the distinguished guests is Ms. Margareth Mngumi, Tanzania’s Insurance Ombudsman, who will attend as the special guest and also participate in a high-level panel discussion. The gathering will bring together key players from the insurance industry, including regulators, brokers, and insurers, to deliberate on strategies for strengthening the sector, with a focus on innovation, growth, and consumer protection.

The Tanzania Insurance Ombudsman (TIO), led by Ms. Mngumi, plays a crucial role in resolving disputes between insurance companies and policyholders, thereby enhancing trust and transparency in the sector. Her participation at the Zanzibar event is expected to shed light on the importance of fair complaint resolution, improved customer care, and accountability in driving the industry forward.
